Top 5 Fun Activities to do in Lisbon with Children
Lisbon is a great place to travel to with children, it offers so many activities that kids love. from the Zoo to Parks, to Golden sand beaches and Aquarium.
Here are the 5 best attractions to keep your children occupied:
1-Oceanário de Lisboa (Lisbon Aquarium)- located at Parque das Nacões. A reach sealife place that offers a variety of aquariums with different sea animals such as seals, penguins, different fish, jellyfish and many more. It is built in a way that no matter where you walk, you will see a full-size aquarium from head to toe, so before you rush to take a picture at the first aquarium you see, hold yourself together, there are so many spots inside that are empty and you don't have to fight for a one great picture. There is a very huge central aquarium with sharks and various fish bands. don't miss that.
Entrance Fee: 19 € for adult, Kids until the age of 3 don't pay, if you pre-order online you can save 2 € and queue at the entrance.
2-Jardim Zoologico (Lisbon Zoo)- We had the best time at Lisbon Zoo, first we started with a live Dolphin show, so check the schedule and don't miss that, it's one of the best things to do in this Zoo. There is a Children's farm, where the kids can meet small animals. it's a great place to run and jump. overall we spent here over 4 hours, then we ate lunch at a Portuguese restaurant next to the zoo entrance.
3-Parks- Lisbon offers lots of great parks where children can run freely and enjoy the playground, we have visited 3 parks just for this purpose: PrÃncipe real, Eduardo VII Park and Jardim da Estrela.
4- Castles- The big debate when you traveling with children is sightseeing, in one hand you want to see the top touristic places and on the other hand, most of them are not suitable for children so you have to do a good research and look for the most suited attractions that you can visit with children. castles were a great solution, although it was still difficult but manageable. My favorite castles were Pena Palace in Sintra, Belem tower and it's area,
The Palace of Queluz and São Jorge Castle.
5-A day at the Beach- grab a blanket, a book, some beach toys and you have a fun activity for you and for your child. you cannot go wrong with a beach or pool. Most of the days we were at the hotel's pool so the beach was a refreshing fun activity for all of us.
